What else you might need to know, before deciding if you need man with a van service.
How big are your removal vehicles?
We have different size removal vans and lorries. Our smallest van has a total size of 300 c.ft. It is ideal for 1 bedroom property or moving just a few items locally. Our Luton vans are 650 c.ft sizes and they are ideal for 1 or 2 bedrooms properties. We also have XXL Maximovers, which have a total loading volume of 900 c.ft. You have probably seen them around Chelsea. These moving trucks are suitable for 3-5 person offices or 2 to 3-bedroom properties. The biggest size vehicle we have is a 12T lorry, which is the size of 2 Vans. It is ideal for big house moves or long distances.
To avoid mistakes and especially to avoid underestimating the volume, contact us to discuss what you need help moving. We offer on-site or video surveys which are best for bigger properties. Once we have an inventory list we will advise you which size vehicle is needed and if you will need a second or a third.
When considering the size of the vehicle, parking is important too. Moving office is difficult, and finding parking is even more difficult. Be aware a Luton-size van will require a minimum of 2 parking spaces. Our 12T will require 3 spaces. When booking our removal service near me package, please discuss your parking situation with our sales team, so we can give the right advice. If the parking is not organized properly, this could lead to a very difficult moving day.
Can I get a lift when hiring man and van?
We typically do not transport customers and they will need to find their own way of traveling to the new address. We make exceptions if moving locally or if this is the only way you can travel if moving long-distance.
In front of the removal van, there are 3 seats in total, so if we send just a driver this will give you 2 empty seats at your disposal. Bare in mind, we do not allow passengers under 18.
Is your man with a van help fully insured?
Absolutely yes! Your items will be fully covered with £50,000 insurance while being loaded, transported, and unloaded. It is important to read our Acceptance form and sign it to get a full access to our insurance, or we will limit our liability to £40 per item.
Do you take furniture for disposal?
Movivan Removals offer furniture and boxes disposal service too. We can take your unwanted items to the local recycling center. Be aware the disposal center will charge a fee for every 100 kg. Most recycling centers also charge separately when disposing of mattresses and other specific items, so it is worth giving them a call about what you can take to the center and what not.
Am I responsible for the parking?
It is the customer’s responsibility to organize the parking for our man and van service at both addresses. If you are finding it difficult, simply call us at 0208 0033 260 and we will try to help.
Can I hire man and van when I have furniture?
This will depend on the size and weight of the furniture and also if there will be someone helping our driver. If you have items like a sofa, wardrobe, or a fridge and there is no one to help, we can always send a team of 2 men and a large van. Our prices start from £65.00 per hour with a minimum charge of 4 hours.
